GEOFFREY SABA

Geoffrey Saba is a classical concert pianist. He has lived in England for over thirty years. In the 1970’s he made his London début and was awarded a bronze medal at the First Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition. Regular touring now takes him to North America, Eastern and Western Europe, the Middle East, India, Japan, South East Asia and his native Australia, and he has played at Festivals in Great Britain, Australia and South East Asia. LATEST RELEASE (CC015)

Geoffrey's latest release is an exciting programme of music by Rachmaninoff and Scriabin taken from his Spring 2012 London recital. The works include rarely-played late pieces by Scriabin as well as Rachmaninoff's monumental First Piano Sonata, the inspiration for which was the Faust legend. The cd opens with Rachmaninoff's beautiful set of Five Pieces Op 3, his first published works for the piano, which include the famous C sharp minor Prelude.
